A gain map is the counterpoint to the pain map. Showing that you empathize and understand your customer’s pain is helpful, but it’s not enough by itself. You must also show what they stand to gain from your product or service. The gain map shows them the potential benefits of working with you.
You can also make your own personal gain map to visualize the rewards you will get from a difficult project. Say you want to lose weight. Your gain map might include things like feeling healthier, being more active, getting to shop for new clothes, feeling more attractive, and so on.
Pain and gain maps should be mirror images of each other as much as possible.
